A precision-ground location pin fits into your receiver for extra shear-strength against recoil, and to ensure that the base is precisely aligned with the rifle's bore. 

Standard installation includes rethreading receiver from 6-48 to much stronger 8-40 screws for a very significant increase in strength. We don't just follow the factory holes, but set each receiver up so that the new holes are precisely aligned with the bore (not always the case off the factory production line).

The base is built with some extra length in front so the user has flexibility to mount optics forward for comfortable prone shooting.

Gruning Precision builds the most durable, versatile, and technically advanced scope rings available at any price.

The upper half of each ring is located by precision-ground pins, eliminating the problems associated with uneven tightening. It is impossible to damage the scope, because the top of the ring is kept perfectly horizontal, with even pressure holding the tube safe and secure.

The rings are held by clamps that tighten from both sides, not just one. Underneath each ring is a bar that fits the Picatinny slot tightly.

The top of each ring has a dovetail and an additional Picatinny slot, for attachment of additional accessories if needed.
