Our muzzlebrakes are manufactured and installed by Gruning Precision to the most strict aerospace tolerances. All too often one sees brakes improperly aligned to the bore, causing a detrimental effect upon accuracy. The master machinists at Gruning painstakingly indicate each barrel in the lathe before cutting threads and re-crowning to ensure near-perfect concentricity, so that the bullet is not tipped off balance as it exits the bore and passes through the brake.

Each Gruning muzzlebrake is custom manufactured and machined to fit your rifle. Except with some extra-slender barrels, the brake can be installed perfectly flush with the exterior contour of the barrel. Or, if you prefer a bolder look, we can flare the brake out at no additional cost.

Re-Barreling

American Pacific Rifleworks is the exclusive civilian source for custom rifle re-barreling by Gruning Precision.

Nothing is more important to rifle accuracy than the quality of the barrel's chamber. In a mass-produced rifle, it is simply impossible to achieve the close tolerances necessary for world-class results. The master machinists at Gruning Precision painstakingly set up each barrel blank on the lathe, indicating it to within .0001" concentricity--that's right, one ten-thousandth of an inch.

This means, in layman's terms, that the chamber is cut perfectly aligned with the bore, and as a result, the bullet enters the rifling perfectly straight.

Gruning Precision has hundreds of chamber reamers--everything from 17 calibers to elephant rounds. In many cases, we have more than one reamer for a given cartridge, so that the customer can set the rifle up for the particular bullet weight desired.

The staff at American Pacific Rifleworks is experienced in wildcatting and will be happy to assist you with the experimental project you might have in mind.
